Choose the Label That Matches Your Collection

Agree the accepted waste and container with your collector first. Chemical pictograms must match confirmed hazards; a waste name such as oil or paint does not tell you which ones apply. The hazard sheets are reminder signs, rather than complete chemical labels or dangerous goods transport labels.

COSHH is not a hazard symbol. The pack includes a storage reminder for use alongside your site’s COSHH assessment.

Print Once, Make the Message Clear

Print at actual size or use your printer’s fit-to-page setting if the border clips. Use colour printing for chemical hazard signs. Protect sheets from weather where needed and place them where people can read them easily.

Waste labels do not replace classification, suitable packaging or the required paperwork. Mixed battery labels apply only to mixtures your collector accepts. Keep lead acid and damaged batteries out of routine mixed battery collections; use the battery-check reminder to tell staff to report a problem.

Use the printing and use guide before displaying the signs. Read the HSE pictogram guidance and Environment Agency classification guidance. Hazard artwork is reproduced from the PubChem GHS gallery.

Free to print and share with your team and customers. Keep the safety wording intact. Layout checked 8 October 2026.
