Waste Solvent Disposal That Fits Your Business

Leftover paint thinner, used cleaning solvent and unwanted drums can take up valuable working space. We arrange business solvent waste collections so you can clear them through a suitable disposal or recovery route.

You do not need to produce a long inventory to start an enquiry. A few clear photos, the product names if known and a rough count of your solvent containers are helpful. Tell us about unknown mixtures, contamination or damaged containers so we can give you useful advice.

We can help with a one-off clear-out or regular collections for businesses that generate solvent waste throughout the year. Prices depend on the solvent, its condition, the amount and the collection location. Ask for a free quote and let us know if you need containers supplied.

IBCs for Secondary Storage of Solvent Containers

We can supply suitable IBCs for secondary storage of solvent containers on your site. Keep the solvent in its sealed, labelled primary containers; the IBC provides an agreed storage arrangement for those containers, rather than a tank to pour waste solvent into. Collections can be arranged on demand or to a regular schedule.

We will discuss the solvent products, their container sizes and the storage location before supplying an IBC. The arrangement must suit the products and their hazards, including any additional spill-containment or fire-safety measures needed at your site.

Do not empty solvent containers into the IBC, or mix different waste liquids. Keep primary containers closed and avoid storing incompatible products together. Storage and collection costs will be explained with your quote.

Keep Solvent Waste Stored Safely

Use compatible, labelled containers in a suitable secure storage area, with secondary containment to help prevent leaks reaching drains or the ground. Keep flammable waste away from ignition sources and follow your workplace risk assessment. Do not pour solvent waste down drains or transfer it into a different container without suitable instructions and trained staff. Tell us about leaks or damaged containers before collection.

Paint Thinner Disposal & White Spirit Collection

Paint thinner and white spirit can become unwanted stock or pick up paint residues during brush cleaning. Keep them as a separate waste stream rather than mixing them with paint tins or tipping them into a drain.

If you are clearing a decorating store or workshop, we can help with both your solvent waste and paint waste disposal. Tell us if aerosol paint or spray primers are included: those pressurised products belong with our aerosol disposal service.

Can Used Solvents Be Recovered?

Some waste solvents can be recovered for further use, while others need a different treatment route. The solvent chemistry and contamination affect the options. We do not promise that every mixture can be recycled or that all solvent waste follows the same process.

Many waste solvents are hazardous. The correct waste description and classification determine the applicable collection records. A product label or safety data sheet can help identify a solvent, but the waste’s actual condition and contaminants also matter.

Solvent Disposal Questions

Can you collect paint thinner and white spirit?

Yes. We can help businesses with unwanted paint thinners, white spirit and used solvent from painting and cleaning. Send us some photos or product names and tell us about any mixtures.

Can you supply an IBC to store our solvent containers?

Yes. We can supply suitable IBCs for secondary storage of your sealed solvent containers. The solvent stays in its primary container; do not pour it into the IBC. We will discuss your products, container sizes and storage location to confirm a suitable arrangement.

Can we arrange collections when our stored containers are ready?

Yes. We can collect on demand when your agreed load of solvent containers is ready, or arrange a regular schedule. Tell us how often you expect to need collection and whether secondary IBC storage would help.

Do you collect acetone and isopropyl alcohol?

We can help with these identified business solvent products and their waste. Let us know whether they are unused, used or mixed with other substances so the right collection route can be arranged.

Should we empty solvent containers into the storage IBC?

No. The IBCs described here are for secondary storage of solvent containers. Keep liquids in their sealed, labelled primary containers and do not combine different waste solvents. Tell us about any existing mixtures or damaged containers before collection.

How much does solvent waste disposal cost?

The price depends on the waste solvent, condition, amount, containers and collection location. A rough count of your solvent containers and some photos are a good starting point for your free quote.

What if we do not know which solvent it is?

Keep it separate and do not guess or add it to another waste container. Send us any readable labels, product information or safety data sheets you have. Some unknown wastes need further identification before a collection can be arranged.

Can you collect paint and cleaning chemicals at the same time?

Tell us which waste types you have and we will help with a collection plan. Keep paint, solvents, cleaning chemicals and aerosols separately contained. They may need different storage, packaging and treatment routes.
