Scope and priorities
This policy covers our collection arrangements, handling of electrical and other waste, stock disposal and work with treatment partners. We aim to prevent waste, enable suitable reuse, maximise appropriate recycling and manage residual waste responsibly.
Authorised routes
Waste must be described accurately and sent through routes authorised for the type and activity concerned. Carrier registration is not permission to carry out every storage or treatment activity. Check relevant permits, exemptions and partner authorisations. Hazardous and POPs-containing waste require particular controls.
Preventing harm
Separate incompatible materials, use suitable containers and prevent leaks, breakage and litter. Report spills and environmental concerns promptly. Collection planning should consider safe handling and efficient journeys.
Improvement and evidence
Seek practical reductions in energy use, unnecessary transport and material waste. Use traceable documentation and avoid unsupported claims of zero landfill, carbon neutrality or universal recycling. Customers can request evidence relevant to their waste stream. Management should review this policy when operations or requirements change.
