How Much Does WEEE Recycling Cost? Getting a UK Business Collection Quote

Guidance reviewed 6 October 2026.

There is no single price that suits every business electrical collection. One pallet of computers, a group of fridges and a mixed load with damaged batteries can need very different arrangements.

What affects the collection price?

The main starting points are the waste type, approximate load size and collection location. Access and specialist handling can also matter. Tell us whether you have ordinary electrical items, cooling appliances, lamps, batteries or a combination.

A photograph helps the team understand a mixture more quickly than a long description of unfamiliar equipment. If you know roughly how many pallets or containers there are, include that; if not, say you are unsure.

When might more information be needed?

The initial enquiry can be simple. A heavy item, restricted access or known hazardous component may need further detail before the cost and method can be confirmed. You do not need to measure every item to ask for a quote.

Tell us about damaged batteries, contamination or broken lamps early. Leaving those details until collection day can change what is appropriate to collect.

Is electrical recycling always free?

No. Do not assume a mixed WEEE collection is free because some IT equipment may qualify for a particular offer. Quality Waste’s free IT collection service is assessed against the actual equipment and agreed criteria.

Likewise, producer or retailer takeback arrangements are different from a commercial collection quote. If you want to use a particular supplier scheme, check its acceptance conditions directly.

What should the quote include?

Ask which items, collection arrangements and records are covered. Data-bearing media collected through Quality Waste’s services are shredded as standard and a Certificate of Data Destruction is included.

For non-hazardous business waste in England, GOV.UK explains the waste transfer note requirements, including keeping a copy for two years. Hazardous waste has different paperwork requirements. Check which applies to the load, rather than treating every collection receipt as equivalent.

A short enquiry is enough to start

Use our online recycling quote form with your name, email, service and a brief message. Your telephone number is optional. Share your postcode and an estimate if available; the team can follow up with the questions that matter for your collection.

For ongoing waste, ask about containers and regular exchanges as an alternative to repeated one-off bookings.
