Common Questions

Does a waste code tell me whether my waste is hazardous?

Some entries are hazardous and some need further information about the waste’s composition and properties. A keyword match alone cannot settle the answer. Use our EWC finder to explore possibilities, then check WM3 guidance or ask a competent specialist.

Is a destruction certificate the same as a waste transfer note?

No. A destruction certificate records the destruction service. It does not replace the waste transfer note or hazardous waste consignment note required for the waste movement. Quality Waste includes a Certificate of Destruction with destruction services, and a Certificate of Data Destruction when data-bearing media are shredded.

Can I generate completed paperwork here?

Our downloads are blank templates with completion guides. We do not currently generate or validate completed transfer or consignment notes online.

Are the templates suitable throughout the UK?

The transfer and consignment templates in our waste business library are labelled for England. Check the rules and forms for the nation where your waste is produced; hazardous waste is called special waste in Scotland.
